Democrats provide the country with regular examples and updates of how they would weaponize government at every level and turn it on their political enemies if they were ever completely in charge and could get away with it.
The latest example has been provided by Rep. Pramilla Jayapal, a Marxist-lite lefty from Washington who, months after the Capitol riot, is now claiming that a Republican colleague, Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, somehow helped ‘instigate’ the Jan. 6 incident.
The Washington Times reports:
In an 11-page letter to the panel, Ms. Boebert denied Ms. Jayapal’s claims, including that she was involved in “aiding and instigating” the Jan. 6 unrest at the Capitol; that she disclosed the location of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and that she “encouraged violence” by making it known she would carry a handgun in Washington, D.C.
She said her letter came in response to a March 18 request for information from the committee, indicating that the panel is investigating the March 10 complaint filed by Ms. Jayapal, who also submitted ethics complaints against Republican Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama and Paul Gosar of Arizona.
“Today, I thoroughly responded to Rep. Jayapal’s baseless Ethics complaint that I violated House Rule XXIII, clause 1,” said Boebert, who is a freshman lawmaker, said in a statement. “It is wrong to have Members of Congress, like Rep. Jayapal, repeatedly abusing the formal ethics investigation process to advance false, politically motivated attacks without any evidence.”
Jayapal claims that Boebert “endangered fellow Members’ lives and pursued a disinformation campaign related to the election results that resulted in an armed uprising,” including tweeting “Today is 1776” on Jan. 6, before the rioting.
Question: How many of the tens of thousands of rioters are followers of Boebert on Twitter and await her every command?
Here’s another: How many firearms were found on protesters inside the Capitol building? Answer: None. In fact, the only firearm-related death was that of Ashli Babbitt, 35, who was killed by a still-unknown Capitol police officer who used precisely the same level of deadly force against an unarmed demonstrator that sets Democrats off and causes their minions to riot when a) the deceased doesn’t have white skin; and b) the deceased could be one of their voters and they can use the death to advance their political objectives.
Boebert was one of more than 100 House Republicans who objected to electoral votes from several battleground states where Democratic operatives spent months before the Nov. 3. election prodding like-minded state officials to change voting laws and rules by executive fiat; per the Constitution, only state legislatures are permitted to change voting laws and rules through legislation.
But Boebert noted that Jayapal herself objected to electoral votes from Georgia in 2017 (to which Jayapal obviously responded with ‘that was then this is now-ism’).
The Colorado restauranteur also pushed back against Jayapal’s claim that Boebert put House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in danger when she tweeted, “The Speaker has been removed from the chambers” (that’s it — nothing about where Pelosi was taken an no instructions to her ‘Twitter divisions’ about where to find Pelosi).
What this is really about is that Boebert is a staunch conservative and Second Amendment proponent who offends the sensibilities of committed Marxist authoritarians like Jayapal because the firebrand Coloradan from Rifle just won’t sit down and shut up, so she needs to be made to sit down and shut up by the tyranny of the small Democrat majority.
Imagine what this party would do to political opponents if they legitimately had complete control of the country.
